# Suggested Donor FAQ
# What is Benevity? Why is my donation directed to a Benevity partner foundation?
<COMPANY NAME> works with Benevity and its partner foundations in order to facilitate donations to charities.
Benevity is an online giving platform that allows donors to support any charity, from anywhere in the world, anywhere online.
Benevity works with a global network of partner foundations to facilitate donations. When a donor makes a donation through the Benevity platform, they make their donation to a donor advised fund at a Benevity partner foundation which then re-grants the funds to the recipient charity.
# Is my donation tax deductible?
If you are a resident of the U.S., donations to American Online Giving Foundation - a501(c)(3) organization - are generally tax deductible, but please check with a tax professional to be sure. The same is true for Canadian residents donating to Canadian Online Giving Foundation.
Tax law varies between countries. You should check your local tax regulations and review with a local tax professional to be sure.
# Will I be charged any fees or other levies?
You will be receipted for the entire contribution by the foundation. The recipient charity will receive your donation, less a credit card processing fee (around 2.9% + $0.30 USD) charged by the payment processor and a charity support fee charged by Benevity.
If you are donating to a foundation in a country other than that in which you reside, your bank or credit card issuer may charge you currency conversion / foreign currency transaction fees and taxes depending on the currency you donate in and your location. Please consult with your bank or credit card issuer for more information.
# Is my donation refundable?
Donations are non-refundable.
